Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the behaviour we require from every Green Dot account holder. It complements the Terms of Service. Serious or repeated breaches lead to account suspension or termination.
1. Applies to whom
Every Green Dot account holder — free or paid, individual or seat within a Team or Club workspace — is bound by this AUP from first sign-in. Billing owners of Team and Club plans additionally undertake to communicate the substance of this AUP to the humans occupying their seats.
2. Sign-in and account integrity
You may not sign in to a Green Dot account that does not belong to you, even if you obtained the magic-link email by accident. You may not attempt to intercept, replay, forge or brute-force magic-link tokens, session cookies, or 2FA codes. You may not use automation to generate sign-in requests at a rate exceeding one per minute per email address. You may not use disposable-email services designed to evade our account-creation controls.
3. Fair play on the puzzle board
Solve times are recorded by the server. You may not use software, extensions or automation that submits solve times without your active involvement. You may not use software that pre-computes solutions and injects them into the board. You may not share your active session with another person for the purpose of coordinated solving. You may replay archive puzzles freely on Pro; you may not screen-record and republish the seed of a puzzle before its 24-hour community window has closed.
4. Leaderboards
Leaderboards reward genuine solve time. Sub-second solve times, repeated identical solve times from the same account, and solve times inconsistent with human interaction, are inspected and if warranted the account is disqualified for that puzzle. Repeat offenders lose leaderboard access permanently while keeping their Green Dot account for individual play.
5. Friends and chat
Friend invitations must go to people who know you and would recognise you. Mass-sending invitations from a scraped address list is prohibited. Chat channels inside Team and Club workspaces are for the workspace members; you may not use them to send unsolicited commercial content, harass a fellow member, share illegal content, or coordinate any activity prohibited by law.
6. Payment
You may only pay with a card or bank account you are authorised to use. Chargebacks initiated in bad faith (dispute of a charge for a plan you actively used) are grounds for suspension. Legitimate disputes are always better resolved by emailing support first — see /refund.
7. API and scraping
The public marketing pages of greendotplay.org may be scraped at reasonable rates for legitimate purposes (search engines, academic study). The internal Green Dot API (backing your cabinet, your board, your friends list) is not a public API and may only be reached by the official browser client. Reverse-engineering the API, building an unofficial client, or scraping the puzzle archive at scale, is prohibited.
8. Illegal content
You may not upload, transmit, host or link to content that is illegal under Montenegrin, EU or your local law — including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, terrorism-related content, incitement to violence, content infringing intellectual-property rights of third parties.
9. Malware and abuse
You may not use Green Dot to distribute malware, phishing pages, or any software designed to disrupt other users' devices. You may not attempt to compromise the availability, integrity or confidentiality of the service — including denial-of-service attacks, resource exhaustion, or exploitation of software vulnerabilities. Security researchers acting in good faith should contact dpo@greendotplay.org before probing production; we welcome responsible-disclosure reports and do not pursue legal action against good-faith researchers acting within scope.
10. Impersonation and misrepresentation
You may not impersonate GreenDotPlay d.o.o., our staff, another Green Dot account holder, or any third party. Your display name should not falsely suggest an official role. Team and Club billing owners must not represent themselves as members of Green Dot staff to their seats.
11. Reporting a breach
If you observe behaviour that breaches this AUP — a suspected bot on the leaderboard, harassment in a club chat, a phishing email pretending to come from Green Dot — report it to support@greendotplay.org. Every report is reviewed by a human within one working day.
12. Enforcement
Suspected breaches are investigated by our support team. Minor first-time breaches lead to a written warning by email. Repeated or severe breaches lead to temporary suspension and, in the last resort, permanent termination of the Green Dot account. Where required by law we retain the ability to cooperate with competent authorities and to preserve evidence.
13. Appeals
If we suspend or terminate your Green Dot account under this AUP, you may appeal by email to support@greendotplay.org within thirty days of the notification. Appeals are handled by a member of our team who was not involved in the original enforcement decision. Response within ten working days. Where an account is suspended for a bank-side chargeback, the appeal window opens after the chargeback is resolved by the bank; we cannot re-enable an account under an active dispute.
14. Bounty and responsible disclosure
Security researchers acting in good faith are invited to test the greendotplay.org production environment within the following scope: sign-in flow, session cookie, cabinet endpoints, checkout redirect. Out of scope: denial-of-service tests, physical or social-engineering attacks against our staff, tests targeting third-party providers (payment, email, cloud). Report findings to dpo@greendotplay.org with clear reproduction steps. We commit not to pursue legal action against researchers acting within scope and in good faith. A small monetary bounty is available for the first report of any medium-or-above severity issue, at our discretion. Full policy on request.
15. Circumvention of technical measures
You may not attempt to circumvent, disable or interfere with any technical measure we put in place to protect the service, to enforce plan limits (for example the daily puzzle quota on the Free tier), to enforce leaderboard fairness, or to enforce the acceptable-use rules described in this document. Attempts to circumvent are treated as material breaches.
16. Multiple accounts
You may hold at most one Green Dot account under your name and email at any time. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent daily puzzle quotas, to obtain multiple free-tier friend slots or to gain multiple leaderboard entries per puzzle is prohibited. Duplicate accounts, once identified, are merged onto the earliest one; solve records and streaks from the deleted duplicates are discarded (they cannot be validated as genuinely human separate players).
17. Content moderation in Team and Club chat
Team and Club billing owners are the moderators of first resort inside their own workspaces. GreenDotPlay staff intervene only in the event of illegal content, credible harassment reports or clear violation of this AUP. We do not read chat channels routinely; we access them only in response to a specific, evidenced report. Moderator actions taken by a billing owner (removing a seat, muting a chat participant) are irreversible on our side without the billing owner's consent.
18. Bots for accessibility
Accessibility-oriented automation is welcome: a screen-reader that navigates the sign-in and the cabinet, a voice-control tool that speaks cells to fill, a magnifier that enlarges the board. These do not fall under the anti-automation clauses of Section 3, as long as the human is actively driving the solve.
19. Cooperation with authorities
Where required by valid legal process (court order, prosecutor request, supervisory-authority order) issued in a jurisdiction we are bound by, we cooperate to the minimum extent required by that process. We do not volunteer account data without such process. We publish an annual transparency report summarising the number and category of requests received and complied with; the report is available on request to dpo@greendotplay.org until we automate its publication.
